A new class year began on august 20th and we received our Home’s children.
On august 29, we had a Welcome party. They enjoyed and have fun.

On September 17th, Hogar Escuela Armando Rosenberg celebrate the 30th anniversary.

We gave thanks to God for all those years, the long way of this beneficial institution, the people who have made this possible, especially Woody and the ORCHID Foundation, Rotary and more people as our employees. With our children we had an Anniversary Party.

Our children were invited to a LEGO Party at Sambil Plaza. We went there on
October 15, having a very nice time.

On December 18, our General Superior Mother, Cecilia Barrio Serna, came to Santo Domingo for a week to take care of Sister Agueda who had a surgery.  Sister Agueda pass away on January 26. Since that day there are only two Sisters for our whole complex in Sabana Perdida, including our two schools in Villa Mella: an elementary school and a high school.

Board Notes

Meeting was called to order by President Richard Isackson. He reviewed the financial report, on which he started by letting us know about the unfortunately passing of our Board member and good friend Frank Nichols. He also informed us that we have received a total of $1815.00 dollars donations in Frank Nichols memorial behalf

We discussed some old business such as container expenses and trucking fees.We also discussed the renovation status, such as the remodeling of the bathroom, the electric system
and future projects. The website update, future visit to the Hogar, the mission statement which at the moment will stay the same as we discussed on our last meeting and the brochure update.

On the subject of renovation status, Jacquie communicated with Sister Primi and was able to gather the
following information.
ï‚· The two upstairs bathrooms were renovated and completed successfully
ï‚· The electrical system projects was also completed successfully
Jacquie also obtained the new list provided by Sister Primi for future projects.
ï‚· Fix the two downstairs bathrooms
ï‚· New water tanks and installations
ï‚· Fix the laundry area
ï‚· Fix the Hogar stairs that are in bad shape

Dick suggested a fundraiser to take place in the month of September and asked the cooperation of Ken McBride as an entertainer. Ken will provide us with a press release for the future fund raiser, which at the present moment the suggested time would be September 28th . More information to come after we contact Robert Downy on the possibility of using the Church Hall for this event.  Jacquie suggested to redact letters to several entities such as Shoprite, Acme to donate some meal platters for the event.

We also discussed membership development that we need to attract new members to help us with our cause. One idea came from Ken McBride with the suggestion that each member of the board could bring two or three members a year.
Ken McBride provided information about us getting potential help from Barbara Isaccson, she is interested in helping our cause. He suggested to Dick to contact her to provide and obtain more information.

Next container and next meeting to be determined.
